LIQUID GRAVEYARD
EX-CANCER MAN’S FEMALE-FRONTED
‘HYBRID-METAL’ BAND RELEASE NEW ALBUM

In the summer of 2006, John Walker - frontman and guitarist in the legendary British death metal band CANCER - formed a new European metal band called LIQUID GRAVEYARD, a band quite different to Cancer and playing a style ranging between avant garde death metal, Alternative and Progressive Rock, although old school death metal references shine through.

“The idea was to create songs by dressing them up in different forms of power and extremity,” explains Walker.  “This wasn’t an open invitation to make as much noise as possible, but to take the songs into a different audio dimension…”

With Raquel Walker‘s vocals shifting between stunning soprano highs, semi-spoken tones, and a menacing growl, LIQUID GRAVEYARD has been described as “hybrid metal”, as it absorbs different styles - doom thrash, death, goth, avant garde - but keeps within its core a totally unique sound.

In the spring of 2008 they demoed their first recordings, which led to them getting signed to Italian record label MY KINGDOM MUSIC, who released their debut album, On Evil Days, in October 2009 – it’s groove-laden melodies and huge rhythm section got a great response from fans and press alike throughout Europe.  The band have subsequently contributed songs to the new film, Witch Of The North, and have now signed a deal with Rising Records, who release their brand new album this spring: The Fifth Time I Died was recorded and mixed at Sadman Studios in Madrid last summer, and mastered at Finnvox in Helsinki in December 2010.
LIQUID GRAVEYARD’s new album, THE FIFTH TIME I DIED, is released in APRIL 11TH 2010 on Rising Records, distributed by Plastic Head
