THE DEAD LAY WAITING is a five-piece band based in Swindon who produce an aggressive onslaught of Deathcore/Grindcore.  Despite their youth, the band has been together for four years and have toured relentlessly. In support of the release of their debut album, We Rise, at the start of last year, the band also played a number of festivals, including Download, Hammerfest and Bloodstock, and supported acts such as Soulfly, Nightwish, Opeth, Napalm Death and Dimmu Borgir. 

And 2011 is looking GREAT for the band…! Their new album, ALMOST HEAVEN, was released in June, coinciding nicely with their appearance at Download, and their nomination for Metal Hammer’s Golden Gods Awards in the Best Underground Band section, alongside the likes of Watain and Clutch – the band also played on the boat that takes everyone down the Thames to the awards show!

The band was also nominated as Best New British Band at this year’s KERRANG! Awards, are recording an XFM Session, supported THE BLACK VEIL BRIDES on European dates, and have had features in magazines such as Metal Hammer, KERRANG!, Terrorizer and Big Cheese…
