Breathing fresh air into the lungs of the UK death metal scene, Bath-based youngsters TRIGGER THE BLOODSHED (Jonny Burgan – Vocals / Rob Purnell - Lead Guitar / Martyn Evans – Guitar / Dan Wilding – Drums / Dave Purnell – Bass) have certainly been making a name for themselves, having played with the biggest names in metal in the last couple of years, and had unrivalled support from metal magazines around the world, including being nominated as Best Underground Band at 2008’s Metal Hammer Awards, and Best New Band in 2009’s, and having their first magazine cover courtesy of Terrorizer. Oh, and influential website Blabbermouth.net declared them “The UK’s heaviest band…”!

After Purgation and The Great Depression, the band release their third album in May.  Entitled Degenerate, it was recorded at the start of 2010 and co-produced by the band and their regular producer Mark Daghorn (Orange Goblin/Cradle Of Filth), with Jacob Hansen (Aborted/Hatesphere/Volbeat) mixing.

“It’s based upon the younger generations of the world, and how as ‘youths’ and ‘young adults’ we are often discriminated against as troublemakers and the ones without futures,” explains vocalist Jonny Burgan.  “Because the higher social order in control of the world are afraid of being overthrown and superseded by the younger generation, and so subtlety are corrupting the youth to neutralize this threat of revolution. A  lot more focus has been put into the songwriting and building riffs instead of ‘puzzles’ - as someone once put it - but without losing the technicality and aggressiveness. Ultimately this album is the perfect mix of groove and hostility!”
